It was emphasized that within the framework of long-standing cooperation with JICA, an effective system for training specialists has been established, including education of Uzbek professionals at Japanese higher education institutions through government scholarship programs (JDS). To date, hundreds of young specialists have obtained master’s and doctoral degrees in Japan and are making a significant contribution to the development of Uzbekistan.
During the negotiations, the parties discussed ways to further strengthen and enhance the effectiveness of cooperation between Uzbekistan and JICA, as well as the progress of the large-scale project “Advanced STEM Human Resources Development Project,” aimed at training highly qualified specialists in advanced engineering and technology fields. The goals and objectives of the project were clarified, and implementation mechanisms were reviewed.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides expressed their readiness to further expand mutually beneficial cooperation, deepen the exchange of best practices, and implement new joint educational and scientific projects.
