A new chapter in science: a branch of the National Herbarium opened in Termez

A regional branch of the National Herbarium of Uzbekistan under the Institute of Botany of the Academy of Sciences has begun its operations at the Termez State University of Engineering and Agrotechnologies.
Currently, the center’s collection contains more than 4,000 plant specimens, and there are plans to increase this number to 10,000 and create the largest plant archive in the region.
Each specimen in the center is scanned with high precision and linked to a digital map using GPS coordinates. This enables remote monitoring of rare plant species and the creation of a large-scale digital archive of the region.
