Uzbekistan and Russia Discuss Cooperation in Higher Education and Science

The Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Kongratbay Sharipov, held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Uzbekistan, Alexey Yerkhov.
The parties emphasized that cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia in the fields of higher education, science, and innovation is multifaceted in nature. To date, a solid legal and contractual framework has been established between the two countries in higher education, and bilateral cooperation continues to expand steadily.
It was also noted that academic mobility is increasing, along with the growing interest of Uzbek youth in studying at Russian universities. During the meeting, the participants discussed issues related to improving the quality of education, aligning joint educational programs with labor market demands, and further enhancing the activities of branches of Russian higher education institutions.
