Agreement Reached to Establish an Uzbek Language and Culture Center in Dushanbe

Within the framework of the meeting, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature named after Alisher Navoi and the Sotim Ulugzoda International University of Foreign Languages. According to this agreement, it is planned to establish an Uzbek Language and Culture Center at the university in the future.
During the visit, the delegation led by the Rector of the Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature, Academician Shuhrat Sirojiddinov, presented the host university with more than 100 books of scientific, journalistic, and literary nature, as well as applied art items reflecting the rich historical and cultural heritage of the Uzbek people.
The parties also exchanged views on the establishment of the Uzbek Language and Culture Center at the International University of Foreign Languages and discussed organizational issues related to launching the center’s activities. It was agreed that the official opening of the center would take place after the completion of the necessary organizational and legal procedures.
During the visit, Academician Shuhrat Sirojiddinov also met with students and faculty members of the Faculty of Philology studying in the Uzbek language program. In his lecture, he emphasized the importance of language and cultural diplomacy, the development of scientific and humanitarian cooperation in the higher education space of Central Asia, as well as the importance of enhancing the international prestige of the Uzbek language.
In addition, an agreement was reached to organize monthly online Uzbek language classes for learners of different levels. It was noted that this initiative will further expand academic cooperation between the two universities and promote the Uzbek language internationally.
