During the meeting, participants discussed the implementation of tasks outlined at the 24 February meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, which focused on creating additional opportunities to support youth initiatives.
The seminar was opened by Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Qo‘ng‘irotboy Sharipov. Participants also included Ilhom Sirojov, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration; Qahramon Quronboyev, Chairman of the Mahalla Association of Uzbekistan; Adham Ikramov, Minister of Sports; Alisher Sa’dullayev, Director of the Youth Affairs Agency; and Otabek Hasanov, Head of the Republican Center for Spirituality and Enlightenment.
It was noted that the President had particularly emphasized the launch of a 400-seat training center established by Kokand University and equipped with modern equipment, technology and laboratories. The center plans to provide six-month free courses in programming, artificial intelligence and robotics for children from low-income families. The initiative is expected to provide modern knowledge to more than 5,000 unorganized youth annually.
The seminar examined practical implementation mechanisms, expansion of coverage and dissemination of this experience across regions.
It was also reported that, in cooperation with the Youth Affairs Agency, the Mahalla Association of Uzbekistan, the Committee on Family and Women, and Kokand University, special free courses are being organized for young people in the Fergana region in programming, artificial intelligence, robotics and STEAM disciplines.
Currently, the university operates a 200-seat “Youth IT Academy” and STEAM-specialized educational buildings with a capacity of 1,650 students. Two hundred modern computers have been installed, and robotics and physics laboratories are equipped with up-to-date technology.
Within the project, more than 1,000 young people are already receiving free education in programming, artificial intelligence, robotics, STEAM subjects and English.
At the conclusion of the seminar, specific tasks were set to ensure the full and effective implementation of the President’s initiatives, expand outreach to disadvantaged youth and strengthen regional cooperation.
