The programme featured Kim Ansell, Senior Adviser for Governance and Transformation at Advance HE, and Aaron Porter, Deputy Director for Governance.
The two-day seminar brought together around 40 senior representatives — rectors, vice-rectors, members of governing boards, and sector experts — from 18 higher education institutions. The event marked an important step in improving university management systems based on modern governance principles, fostering a culture of strategic management, and deepening institutional reforms.
During the seminar, participants discussed the next stage in the development of the Code of Governing Boards for higher education institutions. In particular, discussions focused on the development of the national Governance Change Academy Network (GCAN), the design and pilot implementation of induction and training programmes for governing board members, and the introduction of the governing board secretary function.
The seminar serves as a practical continuation of systemic reforms aimed at establishing a modern, transparent, and efficient governance model in the higher education system.
