The Third Uzbekistan–Hungary Rectors’ Forum to Be Held in Samarkand

During the meeting, the parties reviewed prospects for expanding collaboration between Uzbekistan and Hungary, including the implementation of joint academic programs, enhancement of academic mobility, advancement of scientific research, training of engineering specialists, and integration of digital technologies and artificial intelligence solutions into the educational process.
Special attention was given to joint initiatives being implemented in the Jizzakh region. In particular, discussions addressed the development of the Jizzakh Polytechnic Institute, the introduction of joint degree programs, strengthening international partnerships, coordination of innovation initiatives, and provision of expert support for investment projects.
The sides also explored cooperation prospects within the framework of the technopark currently being established in Jizzakh, including engineering developments, technology transfer, and startup support. The parties emphasized the importance of developing a joint roadmap for the technopark’s advancement.
The meeting also addressed preparations for the Third Uzbekistan–Hungary Rectors’ Forum, scheduled to take place on March 5–7 in Samarkand. The forum will be hosted by the Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage and will focus on digitalization of higher education, integration of artificial intelligence into academic processes, innovative educational models, and technology transfer.
More than 20 inter-university agreements envisaging joint projects are expected to be signed during the forum.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to consistently expanding cooperation in joint academic programs, double-degree initiatives, establishment of research centers, and academic mobility.
