Republican Scientific and Practical Conference Held on the Topic “Ensuring Economic Security in the Context of the Digital Economy: Challenges and Solutions”

The conference was attended by representatives of the General Prosecutor’s Office, the Central Bank, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Anti-Corruption Agency, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, tax and customs authorities, practitioners, entrepreneurs, as well as scholars, professors, and researchers.
The primary objective of the event was to broaden public understanding of economic security, conduct a scientific analysis of threats and risks emerging in the digital economy environment, and foster an atmosphere of zero tolerance toward economic offenses.
Within the framework of the conference, presentations and discussions were organized in the following areas:

strengthening the legislative framework in the field of economic security;

preventing economic offenses and improving monitoring and oversight mechanisms for the use of budgetary funds;

scientific and practical aspects of ensuring and supporting the economic security of entrepreneurship and small businesses;
-
the use of digital technologies to reduce the scale of the shadow economy;
-
enhancing the effectiveness of combating money laundering, terrorist financing, and the financing of the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction in Uzbekistan.
Furthermore, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Tashkent State University of Economics and the Alcohol and Tobacco Market Regulation Inspectorate.
The memorandum aims to strengthen cooperation in analyzing and assessing the scale of the shadow economy in the alcohol and tobacco sectors, conducting research, and developing evidence-based recommendations.
Following the conference, scientific proposals and practical recommendations were developed, and measures for their implementation were defined.
The event will contribute to strengthening economic stability in the country, increasing the effectiveness of digital reforms, and promoting a culture of economic security.
