Minister Reviews Student Projects on Neighborhood Development in Samarkand Region

The visit was attended by regional and district officials, university representatives, and responsible agencies. As is known, in accordance with the instructions issued during the video conference meeting chaired by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, on January 23 of this year, graduating students, master’s students, and young researchers in the fields of urban construction and municipal infrastructure management, geodesy, architecture, construction, urban planning, and economics were assigned to 103 neighborhoods across Samarkand region.
Currently, students are working within a specially established coordination headquarters, in cooperation with relevant organizations, to prepare practical proposals for neighborhood master plans. Particular attention is being given to infrastructure improvement, construction and energy issues, as well as the development of agriculture, entrepreneurship, and the service sector.
During the visit, the Minister provided several recommendations aimed at enhancing the socio-economic development of the neighborhoods. In particular, he emphasized the importance of expanding entrepreneurship in areas such as pomegranate cultivation, fish farming, and livestock production to reduce poverty and create new jobs.
