MUNIS Project: Achievements and Prospects of the Second Phase Discussed

The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan Oktam Salomov, World Bank experts Yerali Beksultan, Anna Ubaydullayeva, and Gauhar Ospanova, as well as Head of the MUNIS Project Implementation Team Dilshod Azgarov.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the key achievements of the MUNIS project aimed at strengthening the national innovation ecosystem, developing research infrastructure, enhancing the capacity of scientific organizations, and commercializing the results of scientific activities. Special attention was paid to the institutional and organizational aspects of project implementation, as well as to the experience of effective cooperation with key stakeholders.
In addition, the participants exchanged views on the priority areas of the second phase of the MUNIS project, focusing on further accelerating reforms in the fields of science, technology, and innovation, expanding mechanisms to support scientific and innovative initiatives, and strengthening the role of the private sector and international cooperation.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties expressed their mutual interest in consistently continuing constructive cooperation and implementing joint initiatives aimed at ensuring the sustainable development of Uzbekistan’s national innovation system.
