Thus, within the framework of the forum, Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Otabek Mahkamov met with Phil Beatie, Director General for International Relations of Times Higher Education, an internationally recognised rating organisation. During the dialogue the current state of cooperation of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovations with the rating organization ‘THE’, improvement of positions of higher education institutions of the republic in international ratings, integration of its methodology into the national rating system were discussed, as well as indicators of institutions, importance of participation in global ratings and plans for the future.
An agreement was reached on the creation of an Uzbek pavilion of 10 higher education institutions at the exhibition of higher education institutions within the framework of the Global Congress on Sustainable Development, and the relevant documents were signed.
Then officials of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation met with Gopal Krishman, Vice-President of Pearson International Organisation for Trade, and Jane Becker, Vice-President for Competency Assessment. The sides exchanged views on the current state of projects implemented by Pearson International in Uzbekistan, as well as priority areas of cooperation for the future. Also during the dialogue the issue of introducing international educational programs providing qualification levels of the Business and Technology Education Council (BTEC) organization into the system of vocational education in Uzbekistan was discussed.
At the meeting with Claire Rawlins, Vice President of Kaplan International Pathways, dedicated to internationalisation of the higher education system, further expansion of cooperation in the sphere of professional development of professors and teachers, reforming the system of professional development on the basis of advanced foreign experience, higher education institutions, the prospects of developing ties between higher education institutions were discussed.
