The event brought together representatives from more than 100 public, over 70 non-governmental, and foreign higher education institutions responsible for anti-corruption compliance.
Within the framework of the seminar, participants were provided with theoretical guidance and practical tools for implementing the anti-corruption tasks and directives outlined in the Address of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to the Oliy Majlis and the people of Uzbekistan.
In particular, in light of 2026 being declared an “extraordinary year” in the fight against corruption, special emphasis was placed on strengthening preventive measures within higher education institutions and introducing systemic mechanisms aimed at preventing corruption.
The seminar program also covered the importance of continuing awareness-raising activities among students and faculty members, enhancing legal awareness and legal culture, reinforcing the principles of integrity, transparency, and justice in society, and promoting the conceptual approach referred to as an “integrity vaccine.”
Additionally, theoretical and practical sessions were conducted on ensuring efficient and targeted use of budget funds, preventing conflicts of interest in public procurement processes, and utilizing modern information technologies and digital platforms in implementing anti-corruption measures.
The seminar further provided detailed explanations of the priority directions for advancing the state anti-corruption policy to a qualitatively new level by 2030, in accordance with Presidential Decree No. PF–270 dated December 30, 2025. The role, responsibilities, and accountability of internal anti-corruption control units within higher education institutions were also thoroughly addressed.
On January 23, a knowledge and practical skills assessment test was conducted for specialists from public higher education institutions. Based on the results, recommendations will be developed to further enhance their professional qualifications.
