The implementation period for the project to develop employment skills in rural areas of Uzbekistan has been extended

Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Kongratbay Sharipov met with UNESCO Permanent Representative in Uzbekistan Sara Noshadi. The parties exchanged views on the progress of implementation and results of the project “Development of employment skills in rural areas of Uzbekistan”, implemented in partnership between UNESCO and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The project is funded by the European Union and its goal is to increase the capacity, professional skills and qualifications of personnel studying in the field of agriculture.
The joint project was fully completed on time; the parties agreed to extend the project implementation period by another 1.5 years (until 2026) in order to carry out additional work using the funds saved within the project.
The parties also discussed organizational issues regarding the international conference on education, which UNESCO plans to hold on May 14, 2024 in Tashkent.
