During the dialogue, the strengthening of bilateral cooperation in the field of higher education and the rapid development of ties thanks to a solid legal framework were noted with satisfaction.
Minister K. Sharipov, in turn, emphasized that educational grants “Stipendium Hungaricum”, awarded annually by Hungary with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Hungary, are becoming more and more popular every year among the youth of Uzbekistan and therefore special attention is now paid to the selection of candidates.
It was also proposed to hold the third forum of university rectors of the two countries in Uzbekistan.
It was also noted that Uzbekistan is interested in creating joint educational programs between universities, inviting Hungarian specialists to give lectures at higher educational institutions of Uzbekistan, and further expanding cooperation in improving the qualifications of teachers in Hungarian universities.
The parties agreed to accelerate the announcement of the second stage of the Uzbek-Hungarian joint competition of scientific projects.
As a result of the meeting, a memorandum was signed on the extension of the educational grant program of the Hungarian government “Stipendium Hungaricum” and the provision of 170 educational grants for bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees within the framework of the program in the 2024/2026 academic year.
Scholarships can also be used to take short courses at Hungarian universities.
