The conference was also attended by Kongratbay Sharipov, Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, who participated as part of the country’s official delegation.
During the event, heads of participating delegations were presented with projects developed by international young scientists that had advanced to the final stage of the competition. The project selection process was conducted in several stages. In November 2025, young researchers’ scientific works were selected in accordance with the CIS Strategy for Scientific and Technological Development for 2026–2035.
Out of 60 submitted applications, 16 projects were recommended for open discussion and presented during the 5th Congress of Young Scientists. Based on expert evaluations, five projects advanced to the final stage of the conference.
The finalist projects included scientific developments in priority areas such as the creation of new energy sources, the application of modern genetic technologies in agriculture and water management, the development of high-tech industrial products, reducing environmental impact, and the use of unique scientific facilities classified as “mega-science” infrastructure.
During the event, heads of delegations asked questions about the presented projects, discussed their practical value and scientific significance, and provided suggestions and recommendations to the young researchers.
