The First Uzbek-Belarusian Vocational Education Forum took place in Minsk

On April 30, Minsk hosted the First Uzbek-Belarusian Vocational Education Forum. On February 7-9, 2024, during the official visit of the Head of State of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Uzbekistan, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko emphasized the importance of further strengthening mutually beneficial ties and cooperation between the countries in various areas, including higher and vocational education. The first Uzbek-Belarusian forum on vocational education has become a practical outcome of these agreements.

The First Uzbek-Belarusian Forum of Vocational Education, held in the building of the National Library in Minsk, was opened by Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus Andrei Ivanets, Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan Kongratbay Sharipov and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Republic of Belarus Rakhmatulla Nazarov. Head of the Department of Social Development of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Uzbekistan Odil Abdurakhmanov also participated in this international event

More than 80 representatives of specialized ministries, universities and colleges took part in this event.
 

A training program will be launched for 28 managerial and pedagogical staff of professional educational institutions, where advanced vocational training centers are planned to be established, according to the 2+2 scheme (2 weeks in Uzbekistan and 2 weeks in Belarus). The experience of integration of higher and professional educational institutions of Belarus with production will be studied and proposals for their application in our country will be developed.

Admission of students of higher educational institutions to participate in the student squads of Belarus and organization of their industrial practice at large industrial enterprises will give an opportunity to strengthen the theoretical knowledge of future specialists in practice, to form friendly relations between students. The participants of the student squads will be given an opportunity to get a professional grade.

It is also important to create a scientific and technological consortium of leading scientists and researchers of the two countries, hold contests of joint scientific and target projects of Uzbekistan-Belarus, finance a total of 20 projects worth 20 billion soums, including projects aimed at the development of vocational education. Also, 40 professors and researchers in the field of engineering and technology will be organized internships in Belarusian scientific and higher educational institutions through selection.
