In 30 districts, universities will hold traditional festivals to increase tourism potential

A year ago - on March 29, 2023, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, at a video conference on the development of tourism potential, gave a number of instructions on the development of tourism in the republic and the retention of foreign tourists in Uzbekistan.
These tasks are also assigned directly to higher educational institutions.
Over the past period, 76 tour packages have been developed, taking into account the history and characteristics of 30 districts, to which 11 universities are attached.
A total of 1,319 materials were created in different languages, including 457 informational, 288 videos and 574 photo content about the tourism potential of the area, cities, region and their history.
To date, 7,596 foreign and 126,571 domestic tourists have been attracted. In addition, in January-March of this year, in all higher educational institutions, as part of the “Travel to Uzbekistan!” program. 114,547 students and 12,858 professors and teachers toured the country.
It is also planned to hold international conferences and festivals dedicated to the development of tourism. In particular, on May 17-18 of this year, the international conference “Increasing cultural awareness and development of environmentally sustainable tourism”, the festival “Mizdakhan - a sacred and mysterious place” will be held in the Khojeyly region of the Republic of Karakalpakstan; on May 2-6, an international folklore festival will be held in the Baysun region of the Surkhandarya region Festival "Boysun Spring"
Also, the Tashkent State Economic University, using artificial intelligence, prepared a video in English, French, German about the history of the ancient monument of Mizdakhan in the Khojeyly region of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. Minister K. Sharipov emphasized the need to prepare video footage of special historical sites in the regions using artificial intelligence.
In addition, instructions were given to organize monthly scientific conferences and forums, as well as ethnic festivals in the assigned areas.
