During the negotiations, the parties discussed issues related to the fundamental improvement of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) systems in the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as the establishment of long-term and effective cooperation in this field.

The parties emphasized the importance of incorporating international experience in implementing recently adopted legislative acts regulating EIA and SEA in Uzbekistan.

Following the meeting, KOICA and the Center for State Environmental Expertise agreed to continue joint efforts to enhance Uzbekistan’s national capacity in EIA, and to introduce and adapt Korea’s advanced environmental assessment system.

This initiative is aimed at strengthening institutional frameworks, developing human resources, and creating a solid foundation for deeper cooperation between the two countries.
