The President noted:
“Thanks to the great reforms launched on the basis of the idea of the ‘New Uzbekistan,’ every compatriot deeply feels in their lives the rights and freedoms granted by independence and widely uses these opportunities. Based on this noble idea, we have re-realized our three-thousand-year-old rich history and culture. By developing the traditions of the First and Second Renaissance on our land, we are confidently moving toward the Third Renaissance. I am convinced that the state and society of the New Uzbekistan will serve as a solid bridge linking our great history with a new, higher era of Revival.”
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized:
“The idea of the New Uzbekistan, based on the noble principle ‘For human dignity, for human happiness,’ has become a powerful movement. Despite the complex global situation, our economy is steadily growing at a rate above 6 percent, which demonstrates that our people are confidently moving forward along the chosen path. The population of our country increases by an average of 700–800 thousand people annually. Each year, 500–600 thousand young people enter the labor market. Naturally, it is impossible to educate them, provide them with skills, and find them jobs without a sustainable system, guaranteed investments, and infrastructure. We have carefully considered this and adopted concrete programs.”
The Head of State stressed that entrepreneurship has become a powerful driving force of the economy. Over the past eight years, GDP has doubled, reaching 115 billion dollars last year, with exports amounting to 26 billion dollars. By the end of this year, GDP will reach 130 billion dollars. Gold and foreign exchange reserves have, for the first time in history, exceeded 48 billion dollars. About 130 billion dollars of foreign investment have entered the country in eight years. All this is the result of reforms, a solid guarantee of our progress, and a sign of the high trust of leading international financial institutions and foreign companies.
The President also highlighted the growth of modern enterprises and infrastructure:
“This year alone, nearly 9,000 new enterprises and service complexes are being built with an investment of 35 billion dollars. On the eve of our greatest holiday, 79 large facilities worth 4 billion dollars were launched. Over the years, the number of small and medium-sized businesses has doubled. Today, more than 10 million of our citizens work in this sector. At the beginning of the year, we set the goal of providing employment for 5.5 million people. In just 8 months, we achieved 5 million. Most importantly, trusting the reforms, 700 thousand of our citizens working abroad returned to their homeland and families this year.”
The President noted achievements in tourism: last year, the number of foreign tourists exceeded 10 million, and tourism services exports exceeded 3 billion dollars. The construction of the Islamic Civilization Center, Imam Bukhari memorial complex, and other unique projects are nearing completion.
The Head of State also paid attention to issues of “green” energy, ecology, housing construction, social protection, education, healthcare, and sports.
He said:
“We have built an Olympic town and a modern Football Academy. This will become a launchpad for thousands of future champions. Our students are winning prizes at international olympiads, and our young athletes are achieving remarkable success.”
The President underlined reforms in the judicial system, the fight against corruption, openness of foreign policy, and the development of international cooperation.
At the conclusion of his speech, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said:
“No matter what trials and difficulties arise, we will never retreat from the path of deepening democratic reforms, strengthening national unity and harmony, and ensuring the satisfaction of our people. We are all one people, one country, one family! The fate, future, happiness, and success of each of us are shared and united. May peace and tranquility, prosperity and happiness always be with you! Long live the State of Uzbekistan! Long live the People of Uzbekistan!”
