Our fundamental goal is clear and bright: to uphold human dignity, establish justice, and transform the state into a system that serves the people. These reforms are the result of the consistent and firm policy led by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, aimed primarily at developing the country as an open, just, and humane state.
Today, the principle "The state must serve the citizens, not the citizens the state" is becoming deeply rooted in our lives. Significant progress is being made in simplifying and digitalizing public services, eliminating bureaucratic barriers, and ensuring the rule of law.
At the same time, we must openly admit: the chosen path is not easy. One of the main obstacles to reform today is the factor of corruption. Corruption is more than just economic damage; it is a crime that undermines justice, human rights, and trust in society. Therefore, the fight against corruption has been elevated to the level of state policy in our country.
The adoption of the Law "On Countering Corruption" in 2017, initiated by the President, marked an entirely new stage. Important institutional reforms were implemented, including the establishment of the Anti-Corruption Agency, relevant committees in the Parliamentary chambers, and anti-corruption commissions in local councils. The creation of the National Anti-Corruption Council was a crucial step in strengthening public oversight.
At the Council’s expanded meeting on March 5 of this year, the Head of State put forward 55 specific initiatives, reiterating that combating corruption is a nationwide task. Extensive work is currently underway to digitalize and reduce the human factor in sectors such as healthcare, education, construction, and banking, preventing the misappropriation of hundreds of billions of soums.
Dear Fellow Citizens! The fight against corruption is not the job of government agencies alone. It is the high responsibility of the entire society. Together with our neighborhoods (mahallas), youth, women, elders, and civil society institutions, we can build a just and strong society. Our strength lies in unity, truth, and responsibility. By staying this course, we will surely overcome corruption.
