On 6 December 2025 at 09:40, an ignition caused by an explosion occurred at the production facility for manufacturing explosives for mining enterprises, belonging to “SHAMS LTD” LLC, located in the “Mustaqillik” MFP of Kogon district, Bukhara region.

The fire was fully extinguished at 10:27 by seven rescue units of the Bukhara Regional Emergency Situations Department.

“SHAMS LTD” LLC has been operating since 2019 and specializes in supplying explosives used for developing new deposits to meet the needs of mining enterprises in Central Asia and Uzbekistan.

At the moment of the explosion, there were 30 employees present in the production facility. As a result of the incident, 4 individuals lost their lives. Four employees sustained minor injuries. Two of them were hospitalized, while the other two received outpatient medical assistance and were discharged home.

In accordance with the instructions of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Sh. M. Mirziyoyev, a Government Commission has been established by order of the Cabinet of Ministers, headed by A. Rafiqov, Chairman of the Committee for Industrial, Radiation and Nuclear Safety, and composed of representatives of relevant ministries and agencies.
The Commission has been tasked with providing necessary assistance to the victims, eliminating the consequences of the explosion, identifying the causes of the accident, and taking measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.

The area where the fire occurred is currently fully secured, and efforts to eliminate the consequences of the incident are underway.
