During the meeting, the dynamics of the development of bilateral relations between AIIB and Uzbekistan were noted, which significantly strengthened after the visit of Sh.M. Mirziyoyev, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, to the AIIB headquarters in January of this year.

As a reference, following the visit, a Cooperation Program was signed for financing joint projects with a total amount of $2.5 billion between Uzbekistan and AIIB for the period of 2024-2026, as well as a Memorandum on holding the Annual Meeting of the AIIB Board of Governors in Samarkand on September 25-26, 2024.

The progress of ongoing projects was discussed, as well as the prospects for joint implementation of new initiatives in the fields of energy, agriculture, transportation, healthcare, and water supply, which are included in the Cooperation Program for 2024-2026.

Separately, the preparations for the 9th Annual Meeting of the AIIB Board of Governors in 2024 in Samarkand were discussed. Roadshows and presentations are planned in different countries, and a joint "Roadmap" will be developed to address organizational and substantive issues related to the event.

At the end of the meeting, mutual readiness was expressed to take measures to expand the scale of cooperation, particularly in increasing the volumes of financial and technical assistance. Additionally, a format for further active interaction was developed to ensure the timely implementation of the discussed projects and initiatives.
