Measures to Increase Mutual Trade Volumes Discussed in Moscow

On July 8 of this year, during a visit to the Russian Federation, Laziz Kudratov, Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, participated in the first meeting of the Working Group on increasing trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Russia, and also visited the All-Russian Academy of Foreign Trade.
At the meeting of the Working Group, with the participation of leaders of relevant ministries, departments, and industry associations, a wide range of issues was considered, concerning measures to expand trade relations between the two countries.
In his speech, Laziz Kudratov emphasized the exemplary nature of the development of Uzbek-Russian relations, achieved thanks to the firm political will and trusting relationships between the heads of the two states.
A positive dynamic of stable growth in trade volumes was noted – a 2.5-fold increase over the past 7 years and a 30% increase since the beginning of this year, including within the framework of the comprehensive strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Russia. At the same time, the structure of goods has significantly expanded, and the share of high-value-added products has grown.
It was noted that our countries have all the necessary opportunities to achieve the target set by the heads of the two states – a mutual trade volume of $30 billion by 2030.
The implementation of the joint Action Plan to increase mutual trade volumes between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation for 2024-2030 is of great importance for accomplishing this task.
During the meeting, the parties thoroughly reviewed the current state and developed joint measures for the accelerated implementation of the document's points.
On the same day, in accordance with the business program of the visit, Laziz Kudratov visited the All-Russian Academy of Foreign Trade, where Rector Vittoria Idrisova presented the conditions created for quality student education. Details of cooperation between MIIT and RAFT were discussed, including the opening of an Academy branch in Tashkent, as well as the implementation of a program for training and professional development of specialists in the field of foreign economic activity.
