The visit of our Head of State to Pakistan brought relations between the two countries to a completely new level.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif held negotiations in a narrow circle and chaired the first meeting of the Strategic Cooperation Council. As a result, a Joint Declaration and a Protocol on the Expansion of Trade and Economic Cooperation were signed.
One of the streets in the capital of Pakistan was named "Tashkent" and a new park was named after Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur. This is a high recognition of our historical and cultural ties.
As a result of the negotiations, major plans were outlined:
🟢Increase the volume of trade turnover to $ 2 billion;
🟢Form a portfolio of projects worth $ 3.5 billion;
🟢Export "Made in Uzbekistan" products to the Pakistani markets;
🟢Creating thousands of new jobs.
The President was also awarded the titles of Honorary Doctor and Professor of the National University of Science and Technology of Pakistan.
In the future, Tashkent and Peshawar universities will jointly train personnel, and our youth will have the opportunity to exchange experience with their Pakistani peers in the IT sector. At the same time, it was decided to hold the "Uzbek Cinema Days" in Pakistan.
