UZBEKISTAN TO DEVELOP LONG-TERM STRATEGY IN WATER MANAGEMENT

As part of the preparatory work for the development of the draft Strategy, today the Ministry of Water Management held a training session with the participation of Russian scientists led by Academician V.L.Kvint.
The event was opened by the Minister of Water Resources Sh.Khamraev. In his speech, he briefly reported on the reforms and changes being implemented in the sphere of water management of the republic on the initiative of the esteemed President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sh. Mirziyoev.
In particular, the approval of the Water Code and the Water Resources Management and Irrigation Sector Development Program for 2025–2028 was noted. The program defines not only important indicators for the next four years, but also specific activities and sources of funding.
Academician V.L. Kvint and Russian scientists presented reports on strategic planning, its importance, strategizing methodology, as well as aspects that need to be addressed in long-term planning in the water sector. The event was held in the format of a lively dialogue.
For reference: V.L. Kvint is a doctor of economic sciences, professor of political economy, member of the Academy of Sciences of the Russian Federation. For his scientific works in the series "Theory of Strategy and Methodology of Strategy Planning" he was awarded the highest award of Moscow State University - the Lomonosov Prize of the 1st degree.
He is also a holder of the Russian Federation Order of Alexander Nevsky, Friendship and other awards. He was awarded the State Prize of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the field of science and technology.
