As a result of this project, an opportunity has been created for the guaranteed and stable irrigation of nearly 6,000 hectares of cropland in the district. This is particularly significant from the perspective of using water resources efficiently, reducing water loss, and improving the water supply for farms and dekhkan households.
Within the project's framework, a 5.6-kilometer section of the "Zarkat" canal was lined with concrete. A total of 6.365 billion soums was allocated for this purpose. Additionally, a 19 kilometer section of the "Kartan" canal was reconstructed, with 29 billion soums spent on the work.
It is worth noting that the reconstruction was not limited to just lining the canals with concrete. The areas surrounding the canals were also landscaped, and measures were taken to improve order and sanitary conditions in the vicinity. This served not only to promote the effective use of water management facilities but also to transform their surroundings into a well-maintained and beautiful area. The speakers at the event emphasized the importance of the reforms being implemented in our country to conserve water resources and develop agriculture.
– Previously, there were difficulties with irrigating our croplands related to water delivery, rotational irrigation, and losses in the network,– says mahalla activist Muydinjon Yuldashev. – The reconstruction of the canals is a great convenience for us, the farmers. Now we have an even greater opportunity to use water efficiently and increase our yields.
Following the warm remarks expressed at the opening ceremony, a symbolic ribbon was cut. Thus, the renovated sections of the “Zarkat” and “Kartan” canals were officially put into operation. Water began to flow along the newly concreted canals.
