Uzbekistan and Itochu Corporation Discuss Priority Areas of Cooperation

On March 18 of this year, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan between Deputy Minister Ilzat Kasimov and the leadership of Itochu Corporation - Shinobu Natsukawa and the Director of the company’s representative office in Uzbekistan, Yamoto Ryuji.
Itochu Corporation is a major Japanese general trading and industrial corporation founded in 1858. The company is featured in the Fortune Global 500 ranking, maintains approximately 90 offices in 61 countries, and is actively implementing projects in Uzbekistan.
During the negotiations, the parties discussed priority areas of bilateral cooperation. In particular, an exchange of views took place regarding the project for the construction of a wastewater treatment system in the Tashkent region. Special attention was paid to optimizing project parameters and ensuring a balance between water quality and the economic efficiency of services. The parties agreed to accelerate the implementation of the project and further strengthen cooperation in this field.
