Uzbekistan and Jordan Discuss Expanding Trade and Economic Cooperation

On March 15, negotiations were held via videoconference between the Head of MIIT of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Laziz Kudratov, and the Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Yarub Quda.
The parties reviewed the current state and prospects for expanding Uzbek-Jordanian trade and economic cooperation. Particular attention was paid to strengthening collaboration in agriculture, the chemical industry, the pharmaceutical sector, as well as the introduction of modern solutions in the field of digital medicine.
By the end of 2025, bilateral trade between Uzbekistan and Jordan increased by 79.2%. Currently, 18 enterprises with Jordanian capital operate in Uzbekistan.
A separate item on the agenda was the preparation for the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Cooperation, as well as the progress of negotiations on concluding a Preferential Trade Agreement between Uzbekistan and Jordan. It was noted that the signing of this document would create conditions for expanding mutual trade, increasing business activity, and deepening trade and economic ties between the two countries.
Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their mutual interest in expanding practical cooperation and agreed to continue an active dialogue across all key areas of bilateral interaction.
