Prospects for Investment Cooperation between Uzbekistan and BlackRock (GIP) Discussed

On 26 January, Laziz Kudratov, Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, held a meeting with Eric Varvel, Partner, Global Head of Capital Formation and Member of the Executive Committee of GIP, a company within the BlackRock Group.
The discussions included an exchange of views on current issues related to the development of investment cooperation and the expansion of engagement with leading international financial and investment institutions.
The parties reviewed priority areas for attracting long-term capital into Uzbekistan’s economy, including the implementation of large-scale projects in industry, energy, infrastructure, and sustainable development. Interest was expressed in supporting initiatives aimed at modernizing production capacities, introducing advanced technologies, and enhancing the country’s overall investment attractiveness.
Particular attention was given to expanding partnerships with global institutional investors, developing project finance mechanisms, and fostering a stable, transparent, and predictable investment environment.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their mutual interest in continuing a constructive dialogue and deepening practical cooperation in promising areas of partnership.
