2,888 Uzbek Citizens in Difficult Situations Abroad Repatriated by the Migration Agency

A total of 2,888 Uzbek citizens who found themselves in difficult situations abroad have been repatriated to Uzbekistan by the Migration Agency. This was reported by the Agency’s press service on August 11.
According to the Agency, this figure represents the number of citizens repatriated during the first seven months of 2026. A total of 9.936 billion soums was allocated from the Migration Fund to cover transportation, medical, organizational and other necessary expenses related to their return.
Among those repatriated:
🔹 1,306 were citizens who faced severe financial difficulties;
🔹 518 were women with children;
🔹 1,022 were children.
In addition, 42 citizens were repatriated using specialized medical transportation in a lying position. 15 citizens who required medical supervision were brought back under the supervision of doctors from the Ministry of Health.
In one case, a citizen who had traveled to St. Petersburg in 2024 for employment lost contact with his family in March 2026. Following an assessment, it was established that his mental condition had deteriorated and that he had been left without proper care.
With the assistance of the Migration Agency, he was repatriated to Uzbekistan on a St. Petersburg–Tashkent flight.
