Videos circulated on social media show incidents involving citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan during inspection activities conducted by law enforcement authorities in the Nizhny Novgorod Region of the Russian Federation.
The Migration Agency immediately took this matter under its supervision. The Agency's Representative Office in the Russian Federation, together with the Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Kazan, is working closely with the relevant Russian authorities to establish all the facts surrounding the incident and to ensure the protection of the rights and legitimate interests of Uzbek citizens.
Contact has been established with M.S., a citizen of the Republic of Uzbekistan featured in the video. He is currently receiving consular and legal assistance.
In addition, an airline ticket for his return to Uzbekistan has been arranged using funds from the Migration Fund. His return to Uzbekistan is scheduled for 6 August of this year.
