The Representative Office of the Migration Agency in the Russian Federation, together with the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Russian Federation, has completed its review of the circumstances surrounding the inspection carried out at a construction site in Moscow.
Of the 320 foreign nationals employed at the construction site, more than 70 are citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Following interviews with 20 Uzbek citizens and site supervisors, it was established that citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan were not involved in the incidents of mistreatment and the use of physical force shown in videos circulated on the internet. Identity documents and work permits of Uzbek nationals were inspected, and no complaints regarding violations of their rights were received.
In addition, a meeting was held with the management of the construction site, during which the Uzbek side conveyed its firm position on ensuring the rights and lawful interests of workers. Uzbek citizens were also provided with additional guidance on how to obtain legal and practical assistance through the Embassy and the Representative Office of the Migration Agency.
The Migration Agency continues to closely monitor the situation in order to protect the rights and lawful interests of our compatriots working abroad.
