One of the destinations that has recently attracted significant public interest is cooperation with the United Kingdom. Today, we will discuss employment opportunities in the UK and how they are being created.
How are employment opportunities in the United Kingdom being created? How are candidates selected? And why is the United Kingdom considered one of Uzbekistan’s key partners in the field of labour migration?
The United Kingdom is one of the countries with the strictest labour regulations. Therefore, the organized employment of citizens in this country goes far beyond simply finding vacancies. It is based on a comprehensive system built on intergovernmental cooperation, legal safeguards, and mutual trust.
For this purpose, in September 2025, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Migration Agency and the UK Government’s Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority (GLAA), the competent authority responsible for ensuring lawful labour practices and preventing labour exploitation.
The Memorandum provides for the prevention of labour exploitation, the protection of citizens’ rights, information exchange, and the establishment of joint monitoring mechanisms.
At the next stage of cooperation, practical mechanisms were established with licensed British recruitment companies.
Currently, the Migration Agency cooperates with HOPS Labour Solutions and Pro-Force Limited.
Through these companies, employers are selected, vacancies are developed, employment contracts are formalized, and recruitment processes are organized.
In addition, continuous monitoring is carried out to ensure that employers comply with the terms of employment contracts, wages are paid on time, and citizens are engaged in lawful employment.
Today, this cooperation is already delivering practical results.
To date, through cooperation with HOPS Labour Solutions, 5,382 citizens of Uzbekistan have been legally employed in seasonal jobs in the United Kingdom, while another 2,282 citizens have been employed through Pro-Force Limited.
Their average monthly income amounts to approximately USD 2,500.
The candidate selection process consists of several stages.
First, applicants take an online test.
After that, they attend an interview with British employers.
Only candidates approved by the employer sign an employment contract and depart for work.
This ensures that the selection process is transparent and based on the actual needs of employers.
As a rule, vacancies for the next season are announced during the autumn months. Official information on candidate registration and selection procedures is published through the Migration Agency’s official Telegram channel, "Xorijda ish."
Therefore, citizens wishing to work in the United Kingdom are advised to follow announcements only through official sources.
Today, cooperation with the United Kingdom is not limited to seasonal agricultural work.
In May 2026, the London City Hall proposed establishing cooperation in the field of labour migration with one of the world's largest cruise operators, Carnival Cruise Line. This initiative is currently being implemented jointly with the Embassy of Uzbekistan in London. It represents an important step toward creating new sectors of employment and new job opportunities for our citizens in the United Kingdom.
Today, cooperation with the United Kingdom is about much more than employment.
It is a systematic partnership based on intergovernmental trust, legal labour migration, the protection of citizens’ rights, candidate selection in accordance with international standards, and the creation of new employment opportunities.
The Migration Agency continues to expand its cooperation with UK government institutions and employers, working to create opportunities for our citizens not only in seasonal employment but also in new, promising, and higher-paying sectors.
