2026-05-10 18:00:00 / Statements and speeches of administration

The Migration Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan expresses serious concern over the increasing cases of citizens working or residing in foreign countries being recruited into armed conflicts and illegal military activities.
Recently, there have been cases where certain individuals gain the trust of citizens through promises of “employment,” “legal assistance,” or “quick entry permit arrangements,” and attempt to involve them in dangerous areas or military-related activities. Such actions pose a serious threat to the lives, freedom, and future of citizens.
It is strictly reminded that:
— participation in areas of armed conflict;
— joining the armed forces or other military formations of foreign states;
— participation in military activities on a mercenary basis;
— agreeing to “recruitment” offers from suspicious individuals or groups
entails criminal liability in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
In particular, according to Article 154¹ of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, participation in military activities on a mercenary basis entails strict criminal liability.
The Migration Agency urges citizens not to trust any suspicious offers and not to make any decisions without first verifying documents and information.
If you encounter suspicious situations or offers, you are requested to immediately contact the diplomatic missions of the Republic of Uzbekistan or the representative offices of the Migration Agency.
The life and safety of citizens are the highest priority.
