The Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change, together with the Uzbek Agency for Technical Regulation under the Cabinet of Ministers, has developed a "List of goods, information on the recycling of which is subject to mandatory indication by their manufacturers and importers."
The list was compiled and approved on June 25, 2024, by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated January 4, 2024, No. 5, "On measures to improve the waste management system and reduce their negative impact on the environmental situation."
The list contains code numbers and symbols for materials such as plastics, paper, metals, glass, composite materials, batteries, and accumulators, as well as construction waste. As necessary, additions and changes to the mandatory designations of solid waste are made and approved.
Taking into account the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated July 7, 2017 No. 476 "On approval of the general technical regulations on the safety of packaging in contact with food products", the approved list of waste products subject to mandatory reuse comes into force in 12 months.
It is worth noting that waste recycling makes it possible to effectively use secondary raw materials. This must help to prevent environmental pollution.
