Today, on October 27, as part of the "ICTWEEK UZBEKISTAN - 2023" event focused on information and communication technologies, the Mobile Number Portability (MNP) service was introduced in the mobile communication networks of Uzbekistan.
The introduction of this service will foster healthy and positive competition among the mobile operators in our nation, consequently enhancing the quality of services they deliver.
The benefit of this is that subscribers can now select their mobile operator based on service quality.
During this process, mobile communication subscribers are provided the option to retain their subscriber number when they switch to a different operator. This prevents number loss and promotes more efficient utilization of number resources by communication operators.
The most advantageous aspect of this service is that mobile subscribers can avail themselves of the services of their preferred mobile operator while preserving their mobile numbers.
In the initial phase, individuals initiate the process by personally visiting the office of the mobile operator they wish to switch to, where they receive a new SIM card that replicates their existing mobile number.
Uzbekistan currently hosts five mobile operators, namely Beeline, Mobi.uz, Ucell, UZTELECOM, and Humans, all of which offer mobile communication services to their customers. When using this service to switch mobile operators, the transferred numbers will maintain their original format and appearance.
