Prospects for Space Sector Cooperation Discussed with NASA Leadership

The meeting was attended by Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov, Uzcosmos Agency Director Shukhrat Kadirov, and NASA Deputy Administrator Matt Anderson.
During the discussion, the parties examined in detail the current priorities of Uzbekistan and the United States in the space sector, prospective joint projects and initiatives, and opportunities to bring bilateral cooperation to a practical stage.
Particular attention was given to developing space technologies, making effective use of satellite data, remote Earth observation, implementing scientific research projects, and training highly qualified specialists for the sector.
Views were also exchanged on NASA's participation in IAC-2028, which Uzbekistan plans to host in Samarkand in 2028, and on opportunities to showcase joint projects and scientific and technical initiatives within this major international event.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties expressed their interest in developing long-term, practical cooperation in the space sector, further strengthening existing ties, and advancing new joint projects.
