The event provided a platform for dialogue between Uzbekistan’s technology ecosystem and investors, technology companies, and institutional partners from the Middle East. Discussions covered the expansion of IT service exports, support for companies seeking to enter new markets, and the development of international partnerships.
Middle Eastern and North African countries currently account for approximately 5 percent of Uzbekistan’s IT service exports. Against this backdrop, participants considered opportunities to expand practical cooperation and launch new joint initiatives.
Attracting investment into Uzbekistan’s IT sector and digital infrastructure was among the key areas discussed. Participants reviewed existing opportunities and investment projects, as well as the conditions being created to support the development of technology businesses in the country. Particular attention was given to opportunities for Middle Eastern technology companies to enter the markets of Uzbekistan and Central Asia, establish partnerships with local businesses, and develop their operations in the region.
Prospects for Uzbek startups and IT service exporters to enter the markets of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries were also addressed. Participants exchanged views on new mechanisms for export, investment, and technological cooperation.
The program featured sessions on Uzbekistan’s potential as a technology hub for Middle Eastern companies, practical examples of investment in the country’s digital infrastructure, presentations by Central Asian startups, and the experience of Middle Eastern companies already operating in Uzbekistan.
A panel discussion on developing the “Uzbekistan–Middle East” technology corridor was also held, alongside a memorandum signing ceremony, B2B meetings, and networking sessions.
Representatives of government agencies, sovereign wealth and venture funds, technology parks, innovation centers, investment promotion agencies, major technology companies, investors, startups, and IT firms took part in the summit.
The Uzbekistan–Middle East Tech Summit contributed to expanding technological cooperation between Uzbekistan and Middle Eastern countries, supporting companies in entering each other’s markets, and developing new investment and export projects.
