As part of an official visit to the United States, representatives of the Samarkand Regional Department of the Ministry of Digital Technologies, participating within the delegation of the Samarkand regional administration, took part in a series of meetings and events aimed at expanding international technological cooperation.

A key milestone of the visit was the official opening ceremony of the Samarkand Digital Hub Innovation Center in San Francisco. During the event, participants reviewed the center’s modern infrastructure, technological capabilities and the conditions created to support innovative and startup-driven initiatives.
On the first day of operations, the Samarkand Digital Hub signed a memorandum of understanding with Humonola Inc focused on the development of startup projects. The agreement is expected to create broader opportunities for young programmers and innovators from Uzbekistan to promote their projects in international markets, particularly in the United States.
The delegation also held meetings with foreign investors and business representatives in the U.S. state of Missouri, where presentations were delivered on ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan’s digital technologies sector, the opportunities available to residents of IT Park Uzbekistan, and the country’s growing investment potential.
Discussions focused on prospects for cooperation in telecommunications, IT services, investment management and the implementation of technology-oriented projects.
In addition, the delegation met with Tim Keane, President of Webster University. Particular attention was devoted to the training of qualified specialists in artificial intelligence and advanced IT fields, improving the professional capacity of academic staff, and implementing joint educational initiatives.
The visit program also included a meeting with Uzbek compatriots working in the logistics sector and engaged in the export of remote services in the United States.
During the discussions, participants exchanged views on expanding exports of digital services, strengthening cooperation in IT and logistics, and effectively leveraging the experience and expertise of Uzbek professionals abroad.
Special attention was given to creating new employment opportunities through remote services, guiding young people toward modern professions, and supporting their entry into international markets.
These engagements are expected to contribute to the expansion of Uzbekistan’s international innovation and technology partnerships, the further development of the national startup ecosystem, and stronger integration of Uzbek youth into the global technological community.
