Press Conference on the "Uzbekistan Mahallas Association Cup" in Handball within the Five Initiatives Olympiad

Today, the Information and Mass Communications Agency hosted a press conference dedicated to the "Uzbekistan Mahallas Association Cup" in Handball, held as part of the Five Initiatives Olympiad.

Tournament Launch

Starting September 2024, a three-stage handball competition will take place across the country among youth living in mahallas as part of the Five Initiatives Olympiad. This tournament, known as the "Uzbekistan Mahallas Association Cup", aims to promote mass sports and a healthy lifestyle among young people.

Objectives of the Competition

The main goal is to implement the Presidential Decree of April 11, 2022, and contribute to the "Uzbekistan - 2030" strategy by encouraging youth to actively participate in sports and developing the sports system in mahallas.

Competition Format

The tournament will take place in three stages:
1️⃣ District/City Stage (September 15-30) – Qualifying rounds among youth in mahallas.
2️⃣ Regional Stage (October 10-18) – Competitions among district-level winners.
3️⃣ National Final Stage (November 3-6) – The best teams will compete for the National Cup.

Rules and Team Composition

📌 The competition will be held according to the rules of the Uzbekistan Handball Federation.
📌 Each team will consist of 10 young male athletes, 1 coach, and 1 team leader.
📌 The winners of the final stage will receive a trophy and commemorative prizes.
