In our country, young people are being provided with ample opportunities to earn income through their own labor, engage in agriculture, and develop entrepreneurship. Significant results have been achieved within the framework of the “Land Allocation for Youth” initiative being implemented for this purpose.
To date, a total of 57.1 thousand hectares of land have been allocated to 155.2 thousand young people. Through this initiative, young people have had the opportunity to start their own independent activities, ensure family well-being, and contribute to the development of the local economy.
More than 522 thousand tons of products were grown on the allocated lands, generating a total income of 1.9 trillion soums.
Of these,
236.6 thousand tons were cereals and legumes,
178.4 thousand tons were melon crops,
107.5 thousand tons were horticultural products.
These products generated economic value of 529 billion, 395 billion and 171 billion soums, respectively.
Also, the “Young Farmers” platform coordinates the activities of young people, providing them with practical support in agrotechnical advice, credit and marketing.
Today, 33 youth cooperatives are operating, and another 26 are in the process of being established. These cooperatives are emerging as a new source of not only production, but also employment, education and economic growth.
