The opening ceremony of the “Grand Swiss 2025” chess tournament took place!

Today in the city of Samarkand, a prestigious chess tournament with a total prize fund of 855 thousand US dollars has started.
At the opening ceremony, the tournament was started with a symbolic move by Acting Hokim of the region Adiz Boboyev and the Director of the Youth Affairs Agency, First Deputy Chairman of the Chess Federation of Uzbekistan, Alisher Sa’dullayev.
The tournament features 172 chess players from 39 countries with high positions in the world ranking.
The tournament will continue until 16 September.
