The "Shijoat va g‘ayrat" Military-Sports Competition Has Begun

Today, a press conference and the official opening ceremony of the "Shijoat va g‘ayrat" military-sports competition took place. The competition aims to foster patriotism among youth and increase their interest in military service.
The event was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Sports, State Security Service, Uzbekistan Neighborhoods Association, Youth Affairs Agency, and the Republican Center for Spirituality and Enlightenment.
During the conference, information was provided on participation conditions, competition stages, and rewards. Additionally, media representatives, journalists, and bloggers received answers to their questions.
The competition is organized among neighborhood youth aged 18-22 in a team format and consists of five stages. The contests include the following seven events:
- Pull-ups on a horizontal bar (for boys);
- Sit-ups (for girls);
- Throwing a training hand grenade for distance;
- Long-distance running;
- Short-distance running;
- Disassembling and assembling an AK-74 (Kalashnikov rifle);
- Sharpshooting (air rifle shooting).
The competition will take place in the following stages:
- Until April 1 – Neighborhood level;
- Until April 30 – District (city) level;
- Until May 20 – Regional level;
- June 20-30 – Republican final.
The winners of each stage will receive diplomas, souvenirs, and cash prizes.
The top team in the Republican Final will receive recommendations for admission to military and paramilitary higher education institutions.
Additionally, the winning teams’ neighborhoods will receive the following sports facilities:
- 1st place – Universal sports field;
- 2nd place – Street workout area;
- 3rd place – Workout area.
This military-sports competition serves as a true school of patriotism for neighborhood youth, preparing them for service in the National Army and careers in the military field.
