Gulruhbegim Tohirjonova Returns to the Uzbekistan National Team!

Today, at the International Chess Academy in the capital, grandmaster Gulruhbegim Tohirjonova, who has returned to Uzbekistan, held a warm meeting with representatives of the media, journalists, and bloggers.
Gulruhbegim Tohirjonova (full name: Tohirjonova Gulruhbegim Alisher qizi) was born on July 16, 1999, in Tashkent. In 2016, at the age of 17, she earned the title of Woman Grandmaster (WGM).
The talented young chess player has achieved several prestigious titles throughout her career, including Woman FIDE Master (2013), Woman International Master (2015), Woman Grandmaster (2016), and International Master (2024).
Gulruhbegim has been actively engaged in chess for 15 years, and during her career, she reached the top eight in the Chess World Cup. In 2016, she won the silver medal at the Asian Nations Cup among women.
Over the past five years, while pursuing her studies at a university in the United States, she has also competed in some of the most prestigious tournaments in America, where she has claimed multiple victories and podium finishes.
In 2021, G. Tohirjonova secured second place in the U.S. Women’s Chess Championship, after which she was selected for the U.S. national team.
At the 2022 Chess Olympiad, she scored 7 out of 10 points while representing Team USA. In the 2024 45th Chess Olympiad, she played on the first board for the U.S. team.
With a FIDE rating of 2,369, the talented chess player represented the U.S. national team in the last two Chess Olympiads.
