As you may know, the 2026 World Chess Olympiad will be held in Uzbekistan. A delegation led by FIDE President Arkady Dvorkovich visited the Olympic Village in Tashkent to review the preparations for the Olympiad.
During their visit, the delegation closely examined the preparations, the work being done to host the 46th World Chess Olympiad in our country, and the reforms aimed at promoting chess.
For reference, this vast complex is being built to host the upcoming Asian and Para-Asian Youth Games in our country. The competitions will feature 29 sports recognized by the International Olympic Committee, with over 3,000 athletes from 45 countries across the continent expected to participate.
