Uzbekistan's young para athletes achieve historic victory in Asia

The 5th Asian Youth Para Games, held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates from December 7 to 14 of this year, became a golden page in the history of Uzbek sports. About 1,500 athletes from 35 countries competed in 11 sports at the prestigious competition.
Uzbek young para athletes showed high results in para athletics, para taekwondo, boccia, para swimming, para arm wrestling and para powerlifting, winning a total of 197 medals - 99 gold, 57 silver and 41 bronze. With this result, our national team took 1st place in the overall team standings.
The members of the delegation, who returned home with a historic victory, were solemnly welcomed at the “Humo” Tashkent International Airport. Also, a ceremony to award the winners and prize-winning athletes and their coaches was held in the Olympic Village in our capital.
The solemn event was attended by the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva, the Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Sports Odil Abdurakhmonov, the Advisor to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Director of the National Agency for Social Protection Mansur Olloyorov, the Minister of Sports of Uzbekistan Adkham Ikramov, the First Deputy Director of the National Agency for Social Protection Shakhnoza Mirziyoyeva, the Director of the Agency for Youth Affairs Alisher Sa'dullayev, the Chairman of the National Paralympic Committee of Uzbekistan Mukhtorkhon Tashkhodjayev, the First Deputy Chairman of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan Otabek Umarov, representatives of the sports community and media workers.
The congratulatory message of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan was read out at the ceremony, and the athletes and coaches were sincerely congratulated on the great victory achieved.
It should be recalled that at the IV Asian Para Games held in Bahrain in 2021, the Uzbek national team took 6th place with 16 medals. This year's result clearly demonstrated the potential, perseverance and influence of our young para athletes on the international sports arena.
This victory is a vivid proof of the strong will, determination and aspiration of the youth of New Uzbekistan towards high goals.
