The Committee on Religious Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan

Today, April 18, the Chairman of the Committee on Religious Affairs, Sodiq Toshboyev, and the Chairman of the Muslim Office of Uzbekistan, Mufti Sheikh Nuriddin Kholiknazar, held a meeting with the Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs of Qatar, Ghanim bin Shahin al-Ghanim.

At the beginning of the conversation, it was noted that relations between Uzbekistan and Qatar are developing, friendly relations between the leaders of the two states, and documents signed at the highest level are important factors in the rapid development of cooperation.

The distinguished guest was provided with detailed information about the reforms in the religious and educational sphere in our country, updates in the direction of freedom of belief, and the conditions provided for our multinational people.

Ghanim bin Shahin al-Ghanim acknowledged that he was pleased with his first visit to Uzbekistan, noting that this land is one of the centers of world civilization, that our great thinkers have made a great contribution to the development of humanity, and that scholars such as Imam Bukhari and Imam Termizi are famous throughout the world.

The meeting discussed issues of cooperation in the areas of improving the skills of religious workers, scientific research, education, and pilgrimage tourism.
