3RD NATIONAL “TARG‘IBOTCHILAR” FORUM HELD IN ANDIJAN

On August 4–5 this year, the 3rd National “Targ‘ibotchilar” Forum was held in Andijan Region.
The main objective of the forum was to promote a healthy social and spiritual environment in society, particularly among women, ensure stability in the religious and educational sphere, improve the effectiveness of awareness-raising activities, and further strengthen coordination and cooperation among partner organisations.
The main events of the forum were held at the Khonobod City Hokimiyat building, with the participation of more than 300 participants.
During the event, lectures and master classes were organised on preventing identified risk factors among women, conducting targeted outreach among the population, the negative consequences of issuing religious rulings (fatwas) without proper authority, reforms in the field of religious education, working with individuals inclined towards destructive ideas, and identifying harmful information in the virtual environment.
In addition, a national clothing show was held at Navro‘z Mall shopping centre in Andijan under the slogan “O‘zbegim Ayollari” (“Women of Uzbekistan”). Particular attention was paid to promoting the distinctive character and appeal of national clothing and strengthening young people’s respect for national values.
On the second day of the forum, members of the Republican “Advocacy Group” conducted targeted awareness-raising and preventive activities in 13 districts and cities of Andijan Region.
In addition, the social and spiritual environment, the state of work with women, and the activities of advocacy groups were assessed in 21 mahallas. Responsible officials were provided with practical recommendations and relevant assignments.
Following the awareness-raising activities conducted in the districts of the region, an event dedicated to the results of the forum was held in the assembly hall of Andijan State Medical Institute. The event was attended by M. Qahharova, Deputy Chairperson of the Committee on Religious Affairs and Head of the Republican “Advocacy Group”, A. Otabayev, Deputy Governor of Andijan Region for Relations with Public and Religious Organisations, and I. Ahmedova, Head of a Department at the Committee. The work carried out within the framework of the forum was reviewed and priority tasks for the future were identified.
Officials and members of the advocacy group who actively contributed to the high-level organisation of the forum and its related activities were also presented with certificates and commemorative gifts.
The forum served as an important platform for exchanging best practices, promoting effective initiatives implemented across the regions, and facilitating their subsequent adoption in other parts of the country.
