The Committee on Religious Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan

The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev has arrived in the Surkhandarya region. In keeping with tradition, the Head of state began his visit with a pilgrimage to the mausoleum of Hakim Termizi.

Verses from the Qur’an and dua were recited, asking the Almighty to grant peace and prosperity to our people.

During the conversation with religious figures, particular attention was given to the in-depth study and broad promotion, both among our compatriots and within the international community, of the spiritual and educational legacy of the eminent scholar Hakim Termizi, who made a great contribution to the development of Islamic religion.

The need to promote the noble virtues of our sacred religion including goodness, humanism, mercy and compassion as well as preserving and strengthening our national values, was also emphasized. On this foundation, the younger generation should be raised in the spirit of noble ideas, further strengthening the feeling of love and devotion to the Motherland in their hearts.

In the complex, which has been restored and further improved in recent years, all conditions have been created for pilgrims. A large volume of work has been carried out in the mausoleum. Modern lighting fixtures, heating, and cooling systems have been installed. To create a favorable microclimate on the complex grounds, more than four thousand perennial decorative trees of 40 species and over 20 thousand seasonal flowers have been planted.

Relevant instructions were given to ensure the continued upkeep of the complex and further expand amenities for pilgrims at the mausoleum of the scholar, who authored numerous works in tafsir, hadith studies, fiqh, kalam, Islamic philosophy, and the history and thought of Sufism.
