“Human Fraternity and Interreligious Dialogue as a Factor of International Solidarity”

In accordance with the resolution of the United Nations General Assembly dated 20 October 2010, the first week of February is annually observed as the World Interfaith Harmony Week, and pursuant to the resolution of 21 December 2020, 4 February is celebrated each year as the International Day of Human Fraternity.
In this regard, the Department of “Religious Studies and Comparative Study of World Religions (UNESCO)” of the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan is planning to hold a week of scientific, cultural and educational events under the slogan
“Human Fraternity and Interreligious Dialogue as a Factor of Peace and Stability”, scheduled for 3–5 February of the current year in Tashkent city and Bukhara region.
At present, within the framework of this week, an international scientific and practical seminar entitled
“Human Fraternity and Interreligious Dialogue as a Factor of International Solidarity” has commenced at the Academy.
The seminar is attended by representatives of UNESCO, the National Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan for UNESCO, the Committee for Religious Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, religious studies experts, renowned scholars, representatives of religious denominations operating in the country, as well as faculty members and students of the Academy.
At the opening ceremony of the event, Ms. M. Qahharova, Deputy Chairperson of the Committee for Religious Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, delivered an opening address.
